How To Care Your Legs In Monsoons

  1. Clean your feet regularly, before sleeping wash your feet with a medicated soap and sprinkle antifungal powder on it.
  2. Go for a pedicure at least twice a month. It helps in keeping the feet soft and nourished. Along with cleaning the fingers it also help in relaxing the body.
  3. Cut your nails from time to time. If you love long nails you can avoid cutting them by shaping it regularly. Curve shape of the nails prevents the dirt from entering it. While cutting or shaping your nails make sure not to cut the cuticles as they help in softening of the hard parts of the nails.
  4. Wear an airy footwear of a good quality. These days closed footwear’s are being produced like gum boots, strapper, rubber shoes, and many more. They are designed by keeping in mind the problems of rainy season. They are both comfortable and stylish. You should always wear low heels during monsoon as it will help you in walking in the rain.
  5. If you are a working person then you should dry your feet as soon as you reach your office and also try to dry your shoes before wearing. When you reach home, add one spoon vinegar in warm water and sit with your legs dipped in it for half an hour. Clean your feet with a towel and apply a moisturizer.
  6. To get rid of fungus you can also use baking soda, it helps in maintaining the required PH balance of the skin. You can either make a thick paste using baking soda and water and apply it on your your foot or sprinkle baking soda in your shoes before wearing it
  7. Salt is a good antiseptic and you can use it to avoid infection during monsoons. Fill a medium sized tub with warm water and add two spoons salt to it. Dip your legs in it for fifteen minutes. Wash your feet with lukewarm water and pat dry.
  8. Mix one spoon turmeric powder with water to make a thick and smooth paste. Apply it on the infected areas of your foot. If you have a painful infection in your feet you can apply coconut oil or neem oil to cure it. It will reduce the fungus and pain effectively.
  9. If you are diabetic then it becomes even more important to take care of your feet. Instead of nylon socks you should use cotton socks. You should always change your wet socks immediately without any delay and always carry a spare pair of socks with you. Do not walk with bare foot at all in this season.
  10. You can apply a normal talcum powder also if you don’t have any other source available with you. Every talcum powder has antibacterial properties which would help in reducing the infection to a great extent. A prickly heat powder is preferable to a normal powder as it has more healing power.
